Back from New York after a short trip, a happy graduation, a sad goodbye -- again. Maybe this is what I ought to knit next: a giant net in which to catch my growing and grown-up daughters and keep them ever close.
It rained hard and constantly on our first day, and the whole city looked grey, except for the top floor of MOMA which offered us so many shades of blue:

and bluish greys

A perfect match in mood for the knitting on my lap during the long flights there and back.
Typead is not allowing me to link to the wonderful site where photographs of these masterpieces by Picasso, Van Gogh and Rodin can be studied and admired: it is www.moma.org/collection/

A giant net to catch your daughters and keep them close...this makes me sigh in recognition though my child is still so young.
The Euroflax cables look lovely. I am eager to see how they change, if at all, after washing.

I must confess that the photo I clicked on to study and admire was the one of your sweater-in-progress. While I do appreciate great works of art, I'm much more interested in knitting. :D

I dug out my linen thinking I would rip it out and do the Sally Melville one you suggested but discovered I had alreay finished 8 inches of the body. I also found two emails we had exchange on this sweater in April and June of 2002! You finished the sweater and I put it away. Now I'm going to figure where I am in the pattern and continue to the finish. Perhaps you can save me a headache before I get there, what's wrong with the v-neck? Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Hi Laura,
Thanks for the comment and also for the lovely MOMA Picasso and van gogh in this post. Re. IK, I never have high expectations. I find that their garments usually look good at first glance, but not so much after you look harder. In this issue though, so much looked bad at first glance. With due respect to your color, the clown sweater did have nice colors, but what an ill-fitting jumble of them. I mentioned you in my post today.
