The ying and yang of my knitting life: one daughter gone away, one blocking surface found. The garage usually serves as my studio; it is where I keep my stash, my knitting and sewing books, my sewing machine, and where the blocking board and the ironing table reside. But in the winter it is a cold place, where damp knitwear can take days to dry properly.
So the blocking board, wires and iron moved in from the cold almost as soon as the bedroom became available. First I blocked this:
And once it was dry, I blocked this:
Next stop: 3-needle bind-off at the shoulders, then sleeves. Thrilling, I know. Altogether a pretty boring knit, but I am hoping for a real workhorse of a cardigan when all is said and done. Besides it ought to look really good with my zillion red scarves.
